Ken is a qualified Chartered Surveyor with more than 43 years of experience in the local property market, having successfully sold thousands of homes across Wetherby and the surrounding villages.
After graduating with an honours degree in Urban Estate Surveying from Trent Polytechnic, Nottingham, Ken began his career in 1982 with Hepper Watson in Leeds as a trainee negotiator and valuer. Within nine months he was promoted and transferred back to his hometown, where he went on to manage two highly successful offices in Wetherby and Boston Spa. This followed the firm’s acquisition by the Halifax in 1987.
In 1997, Ken was headhunted to join Renton & Parr as a Partner. He later became Owner and Managing Director in March 2011. He now serves as Chairman of the company, having handed over the reins to his two sons, Tom and Alex, who lead the business’s day-to-day operations while he continues to provide strategic guidance and oversight.
Married to Louise, Ken is the proud father of three sons — Patrick, Thomas and Alex — all graduates of Newcastle University.
Outside of work, Ken has been an active member of Wetherby Rugby Club and Wetherby Golf Club and formerly captained the TABS 3rd XI cricket team. In his current role as Chairman, he is enjoying the opportunity to dedicate more time to improving his golf handicap.
Ken remains deeply passionate about property and customer service. Over four decades, he has built a reputation as one of Wetherby’s most respected and trusted estate agents.
